Focus Posters collaborated with the all-star team who authored, The Adaptive Toolkit forPotty Training Children with Disabilitiesto create visual supports for potty training. Visual supports help communicate expectations for children, and also breakdown daunting milestones, like potty training, into manageable, smaller steps.
You can create your own visual supports for potty training, custom to the child in your life.
Children learn the steps involved in using a toilet. If there are additional steps involved in their potty training, custom visuals are especially important to communicate them.
Communication
Most children who are potty training likely aren’t able to read yet. Friendly, simple illustrations communicate the potty training process (and expectations) in a way that children can refer back to.
Engagement
Little ones can connect to characters that look like them, colors they love, and pictures they understand. Make them an active part in this process and design the poster together!
